A couple to share

Here are two of the four layouts taught in a recent Scrapbooking Class. I am into “white space” layouts and “Clean & simple” layouts so these two certainly fit the bill.

This one was made using the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die along with his swirl die. The butterflies were cut out of the paper. I will eventually put small polaroid photos between the two butterflies but I haven’t got round to it yet.

The strips of paper in this layout were folded in such a way that they didn’t go flat even after being put into an album.

Both of these layouts plus another double layout will be in our next scrapbook kit.

No I can’t pronounce it but it was beautiful never the less. I am still addicted to White Space so you will probably see quite a few of these for a while.

The starfish were punched out using the Woodware star punch and scored and squeezed to make 3d star fish.
.
I used a very fine black pen to make the bubbles to decorate the starfish and the borders.

I so like this page that I have already started a mini book in the same style. I will share it as soon as it is finished. xx

Dear Diary

This layout was great fun to make, especially as I got the chance to draw and use some of my own templates.

The main cluster of sea creatures are cut from one of the papers but the seaweed and larger fish were made using my templates.

Adding the air bubbles brought the layout together. The little photos are from Picasa using their Polaroid function.

Our second winner

or should I say our second winners.
Choosing just one person from our 122 entries has been really hard so in the end I gave up and chose two people. Both will be asked to act as a guest designer for one week on July.
So after consultation with my Design Team, pacing, asking all the neighbours and generally faffing here are our two winners.

Another class finishes

Our fortnightly classes this time have been using Echo Parks Paradise Beach papers and there were three layouts used as examples. Over the next three days I will post them for you to see.
The first is “Bonaire”
I love the colours in this range.

I used the border paper to make most of the embellishments on the page.

The photo was manipulated using Picasa. Believe it or believe it not, you can make a rainy day on Greatstone Beach look tropical using this programme.
If you would like to know more about how I use Picasa then please leave a comment. If I get enough comments I will do a tutorial for you.
